Below are some helpful guides to help you create an account and join as a New Member

YOUR MEMBERSHIP WILL NOT BE FINALISED UNTIL PAYMENT HAS BEEN RECEIVED

Working with Children Check (WWCC) - FREE TO VOLUNTEERS

All members over 18, without exception, require a WWCC before membership can be accepted.
Lifesaving Victoria (LSV) and Dromana Bay LSC, as a volunteer organisation, have a legal responsibility under the Working with Children Act 2005 to:

  • Ensure that the appropriate people have undergone the WWCC; and

  • Ensure no volunteer with a negative notice undertakes child related work.

There are serious legal ramifications for LSV and DBLSC if the Act is breached. Fines of up to $125,000 can be imposed on LSV and up to $25,000 or a 2 year prison term can be imposed on the club.

DBLSC members, whose professions require a police check for employment purposes including teachers & police officers, must complete a WWCC as well. Members will be able to complete the Working with Children Check Application from online before lodging the form with  Australia Post. This will entail an easy 2 step application process, which is outlined below:
